I Have Always Loved Celtic Astrology

Being more than half Irish, some Scottish and a bit French, I am apparently a Gaul through and through. The Gaelic people were ancients who occupied Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and parts of France. They occupied these area, which were one kingdom known as, Gaul, hence, Gaelic being the language spoken at the time. It is, I believe still taught in the schools throughout Ireland and Scotland, although the dialects are very different, and I don't believe its language used in conversation at the dinner table with the family. Its sort of like how in the states most of us were forced to take Latin to gain a greater navigation of the English language and as a base for the other romance languages. Latin was considered to be the base and stepping stone for learning English, Italian, Spanish, and French, all derived from Latin.

Anyhow, I just thought I would share the Celtic tree, a sacred wheel, much like the Western/Vedic wheel, but a little different, the terminology used in this part of the world was much different than that of the Middle East, Greece, Rome, and the Mediterranean. Astrology was thought to have originated in Mesopotamia, a country where now various Middle Eastern countries and territories occupy. I'm not sure if Persia stood alone or was part of this. I'm a nerd, but sometimes I just don't know everything, guys and dolls.

Ok, so the Celtic Astrology Tree Zodiac Wheel, Beautiful & So Very Different From The Rest!!!

2010 Horoscope

This is an image I see often associated with Pagan religions and practitioners of Wicca, not really a religion as I understand it, but the practice of Pagan beliefs and rituals, very individual to the particular practitioner, a witch if you will, people who are born with these ideologies, generally it is not learned. Some people are more sensitive to these arts than others. This is a very beautiful nature based set of beliefs, not that far off from the Native American tribes in North America before being infiltrated by horrible atrocities. Its funny how we are all the same in that respect, worlds away, oceans away, across thousands of miles, people are people and have the same hopes and dreams and religion is all very similar, a system of ethics and codes of how we would all like to be treated as human beings. The human race is all one big family! The word Wicca literally means "wise woman". That somehow was morphed into witch. Think of these women as grammies mixing up herbs and healing the sick, infertile, loveless, depressed, they helped people and were often present during births to help out with that too, midwives. They were human and not these evil women who ate babies and sucked out your souls and made you sign Satan's book. As a matter of fact, most pagan religions do not even recognize Satan, as Christians know him. There is no Satan in the Wiccan tradition. There are similar negative entities, but not just one guy who controls all the horrors of the universe.

Clarifying the Different Kinds of Astrology

There are many different kinds of Astrology in this vast world we live in. Different cultures, where you learned, who taught you, what's going on in your world. These are all factors in the way Astrologers approach casting your chart.

My brand of Astrology is somewhat predictive, but mainly, I draft a basic blueprint of what kinds of events will be happening in your lifetime, what your child and husband or wife's sign or characteristics might be like.

I'm not a predictive psychic per say, I am a sensitive and do have some attributes mediums have, but my forte is Astrology charts and my intuition. I can't predict when you will win the lottery or if your divorce will be final on Thursday.

I can, however predict if your marriage will last and what kind it will be, how many, and what the genders of your children might be, where you might end up living five years from now, if you should be careful with your health in any given area. I'm a guide through life's bumpy road.

My methods are sort of a mishmash of Vedic and Western Astrology.

Important Books To Self-Learn the Craft of Astrology!

California Astrology Association

I am a self-taught Astrologer. I have worked with other Astrologers, but primarily I have learned my craft through personal experience, lots of hard practice, and books! So, here are the important books you will need to begin the process of becoming not just a good Astrology caster, but a great one!

Start off with Linda Goodman's Sun Signs, then you will need to read Love Signs, that is for some reason the most well written Astrology bible that will get you familiar with the way all the signs, planets, and houses relate to each other. Its complicated to explain, but definitely trust me on this. It gets you seasoned!

My relationship signs book is so tattered its not even funny. It has all the planetary tables in it so you can find out easily where all your planets reside and in which houses respectively and that it explains a lot about how people relate to each other in conjunction with those houses and signs. Its so helpful in the learning of Astrology, you will see!

Parker's is a little more detailed and gets into how the individual sun signs are divided up and what your power stone for your exact birthday is and what you should be eating and watching health wise and such. Its a really well written book!

The Astrology Handbook gets very super detailed and tells you how to cast lots, something done in Vedic Astrology to predict life's events and the circumstances surrounding them such as the birth of a child, profession, marriage, divorce, addiction, mental illness, things of that nature...

Oh, I think somebody is partial to Linda Goodman lol, have you deduced that yet? Buy 'em used and resell them when you are done or pass them on! I put a couple of books that I suggest you buy used off of Amazon up. Its super cheap and super easy and comes quick!

Enjoy and I hope you check these special books out and begin learning my craft. I am always here to share and to do your chart, so don't hesistate to email me with any questions, customastrocharts@gmail.com!

The Moon Factor

Photobucket

The moon rules the sixth sign of the zodiac, Cancer. I can also vouch for the fact that this heavenly body that controls the tides here on Earth is a huge contributor to our personality and the way we react to it. Our moon is our emotional side, our feelings inside in the deepest recesses of our souls. It is our gut reaction, how we proceed without even thinking about it, things rooted in habit, inborn natural instinct.

The moon heavily effects those born under the water signs: Pisces, Cancer, and Scorpio. I used to live under the same roof with all of them, myself included. We are all very emotional and our attitudes have much to do with the moon. The moon has very much to do with feminine energy. This is your softer, more emotional side even if you are a guy, especially born in the feminine signs: Taurus, Cancer, Virgo Scorpio, Capricorn, and Pisces. It gets sticky though, if you are not an avid astrologer, because you really would need to look up your moon sign and have that interpreted within your chart to find out this concerns you.

To prove my point though, for skeptics and nonbelievers, at least partially to the fact that astrology has some merit, think in terms of science. You are intelligent people, most of my readers are bloggers who write and think, so use your noodle lol!

The moon controls the tides. Our bodies are made up of water, an astounding 55 - 60 percent of our bodies. Men have 55 percent water mass and women, 60, surprise, surprise. Now, biologically, we all know that its not just prejudices that tell us women are more emotional. Does this have some correlation to the moon and it controlling some of our bodily processes? Oh, I think so, guys and dolls.

So, definitely watch the moon and see what its doing especially if you are a water sign, but I know many earth, fire, and air signs who are also affected. We are all human and we are all made up of mostly water, and holy gees, we are made up of another element found in the ocean, salt!!!!!!!!!!!

Another interesting fact, bipolar disorder is often times successfully treated with Lithium, right. Its been very effective and doctors and scientists DO NOT KNOW WHY! Its really simple. Lithium is a salt found in the periodic table, it is not even a pharmaceutical. Its absolutely no surprise that it regulates emotion and the way one feels. I suspect one of the major differences between table salt and Lithium is its ability to remain in the proper recesses of the brain where chemical activity takes place and affecting those systems positively. Although crude, rude, and definitely politically correct, they did not call the mentally ill, lunatics years ago for no reason. Those hospitals are chocked filled with patients during a full moon.

So, if anybody tries to tell you that the moon being full has nothing to do with how you feel or act, think again. Ask anybody who works at a psychological practice, hospital, or who is highly emotional. They will tell you.

Also, another case and point. Ladies, ever get your period during a full moon. How did you feel on that day, pretty unpleasant and/or tearful I would imagine. I know a few people who chart the way this affects their cycle. Its not a bad idea. So, pay attention ladies and gentlemen!

Are You On The Cusp of Your Sun Sign?

Is 2010 Your Number? Get a free sample Numerology One-Year Forecast.

Guess what, guys, I'm a Scorpio Saggitarius cusp. Many of my planets in my natal chart are also in Sagittarius. As a matter of fact, I get along very well with other fire signs although I'm a Scorpio and this is pretty contrary to what is supposed to be. As a matter of fact, I gravitate towards other cusps often. I find often when I do relationship charts for couples of a fire and water sign or earth and air, (my parents are earth and air), I find that one or both of them is born on the cusp and probably has a sun or moon in the other element.

Of course, there are many other aspects that can present what will eventually develop into a beautiful relationship, this one I find to be extremely prevalent.

In astrology, a cusp is the imaginary line that separates a pair of consecutive signs in the zodiac or houses in the horoscope.

Because the solar disc has a diameter of approximately half a degree, it is possible for the Sun to straddle the cusp as it moves across the sky. When this occurs at the moment of birth such a person is said to be "born on the cusp" and some believe that their life is influenced by the characteristics of both signs. For example, if an individual was born when the Sun (by convention the point at the centre of the Solar disc) was located at 29 degrees, 50 minutes Gemini, then one might say that he was born on the cusp of Gemini and Cancer. Much of the Solar disc was actually in Cancer even though the centre was in Gemini.

Although the term "cusp" is universally used for the boundaries of signs, not all astrologers agree that an object can ever be included in more than one sign. Many consider relevant only the location of the Sun's centre, which must be entirely in one sign, and would describe the natal Sun in the example as simply being in Gemini. If late degrees of Gemini have a Cancer-like character, they would describe that as simply the nature of that part of Gemini rather than some influence spilling over from the next sign.

On the other hand, astrologers who consider objects "on the cusp" to be meaningfully different from objects entirely in one sign may apply such a description even when no part of the object crosses the boundary. That point of view may consider the Sun to be "on the cusp" even when its center is as much as two degrees away from the sign boundary. They may also call other objects (much less than half a degree in diameter) "on the cusp" despite no part of the object being in the adjacent sign. Their claim is that the influence of the cusp gets weaker but does not suddenly disappear as the object gets further from the cusp.

A similar debate applies to cusps between houses.

What's Your Rising Sign?

Your rising sign is the sign which occupies your first house in the zodiac. It is the beginning of your chart, it is where the sun rises, where you have learned to present yourself to the outside world. This is in more of a context outside the home, to people who are not closest to you. Those people know you at the core of your being and know who you really are most of the time. This is how you appear in atypical situations, somewhere or someone you are not at ease with, a new social situation, perhaps. This is the masque you put on for the world concealing your true nature.

Here is a website I found on the internet via a google search to calculate your rising sign. This is the beginning of your chart, once you have found this out, you are on your way!

Make sure you call mum or dad and ask them your time and exact place of birth!

The Zodiac's Houses

The zodiac is made up of twelve different astrological signs, based on constellations formed in the sky, little or big clusters of stars spread throughout the heavens. The ancients named them based on the shapes they believed they took on, mostly animals, but not entirely.

The zodiac has twelve houses as well, all representing some aspect of the way a person's life is going to appear to the astrologer. For instance, I can usually tell what your first born child's sex might be and the time of year in which they will be born and I can detect under which sign their birth date will fall.

The lines between each individual house on both sides are refered to as cusps. I will get to that later, I was born on one (laughs). That brings up a whole new bag of worms, so I will get to that in a later post.

Houses of The Zodiac & Their Attributes

The first house is the house of self and contains the rising sign. It is the first place in the chart generally that an astrologer looks to begin drafting your unique personal profile set in the stars. The rising sign is almost like a masque, something that the outside world sees. People perceive your attributes from the sign this house contains.

The second house is the house of possessions, what you physically own, your personal wealth.

The third house is the house of communication, how you share your thoughts with others both verbally and through facial expressions, your demeanor as you are expressing thoughts.

The fourth house is the house of the home, meaning, your family, ancestry, your roots, where you come from and how you live privately at home.

The fifth house is the house concerning family. For instance, in my own personal chart its where my only child is, his birth sign is there. Its also how you relate to your brothers and sisters, children, and family as a whole, including extended family, non-blood relatives, and the people in your immediate life, your social circle immediately close to home. It also concerns creativity and how you express it, how you have fun with it.

The sixth house is where your general well being is spelled out, your health, both physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental, all concerns to how your are feeling as a whole person.

The seventh house is the zodiac's house of partnerships, you sometimes will find a husband or wife here, depend on what planets occupy this seventh house. You will also find business partners, people you work with very closely on any type of matter that is important to you and makes you a better and more productive member of society, unless of course there are negative planetary influences, but let's try to stay positive!

The eighth house is the house of death, regeneration, sex, the place where you look to inquire about inheritances, it has to do with all matters surrounding the dead. It sounds like a horrible places, but regeneration is beautiful, and positive. The circle of life is a positive thing. When people die, they are just moving on, not gone forever, just gone from this particular realm, so don't be afraid of the eighth house, as a matter of fact, its the house that my sign, Scorpio, rules.

The ninth house is the house concerning travel, being cultured by experiences concerning being around other cultures and peoples. It has much to do with dreams and how you think, your philosophical mind.

The tenth house has to do with social standing, your mum, your profession, the way you are and appear socially to the rest of the world. This is the house of business dealings and governmental affiliations.

The eleventh house has way more to do with other people than yourself. Its circumstances you cannot control, people you are surrounded by, aspirations, your friends.

The twelfth house is a very private place. Its where the secrets of your whole existence are stored: sexuality, negative affiliations with the law, extramarital affairs, untruthful affairs in general, prison stays, hospitalizations you are ashamed of, difficulty, secret things that make you sad, everything that is unknown to the outside world and maybe even yourself!

Ever Just Meet Someone And Already Know Them?

Photobucket

We, as people, certain kinds of people, in my general belief, classified by a blueprint made by "god" for destiny mapped out in the stars in the sky, gravitate towards certain individuals for a reason. Chances are, if you correctly and accurately draft their chart, you will find that your chart and theirs interconnect in certain areas like the pieces of a puzzle.

For instance, throughout my lifetime, for some reason, I could never figure out why until I looked further into things, astrologically speaking, why all my boyfriends who I have significant relationships with were Cancers. There were a couple of anomalies, but I delved into those charts and there were reasons for that, the most important being, that most of them had cancer moons or Venus in Cancer, an important planet, not always in a man's chart, but sometimes for love and relationships.

After years of drafting charts of different people one starts to notice these differences and patterns through experience. In addition to my Cancer fetish, so to speak, all my female friends have generally been other Scorpios, Leos, who I'm really not supposed to be able to work with (laughs), and Taurus women, my polar opposite, another very stubborn sign. Although Scorpios and Taurus' are very different people, their are some similarities, and the differences balance each other out well, which would be labeled polarity by most astrologers.

I just thought I would share some of my personal experiences with you and share some little tips! Have a great week, and my page for getting charts drafted will be up soon so we can get moving and let you know what to expect this year!

Love & Positivity!

Amy
